CONCEPT-VISION OF TOURISM DEVELOPMENT FROM THE POINT OF VIEW TO INCREASING THE COUNTRY’S ECONOMIC BENEFITS AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

In the article, the author presents the vision-concept of alternative ways of tourism development in Georgia from the point of view of water transport and religious tourism.
It is noted that today in Georgia, tourism is one of the important and developing directions, and the historical and cultural resources play a decisive role in the development of tourism. Nevertheless, in Georgia, we have no less interesting and
important resources.
The author focuses on two directions of tourism, which, from his point of view, will be more beneficial for the economic strengthening of the country than several areas together (in the direction of tourism). Georgia also has the resources of river tourism, and with the right strategic management, this direction is very profitable. Despite the change of the water level
seasonally, in case of low water, the ship can be replaced by a ferry.
As for the second direction, religious tourism, today, despite the fact that there are certain pilgrimage tour routes (from the capital to the capital, etc.), the income in this regard is very small and is not sustainable. There are many reasons for this.
In the last 5 years, a number of challenges and natural disasters have hit the global world and therefore there is a need to think quickly, develop and implement new visions and approaches. Today, the problems created on the Black Sea can hinder cruise tourism for a long time (although it has not existed for a long time in Georgia). That is why finding alternative ways at this stage is important and so necessary in terms of increasing economic benefits of the country and sustainable development.
