A FUNDAMENTAL WORK ON THE HISTORY OF BATUMI

Abstract

In 2023, Dr. Lela Saralidze's monographic work: "Batumi during the period of the Democratic Republic of Georgia (1918-1921)" was published. The monograph comprises the study of the history of Batumi from the period of the First World War to March 1921, when the city of Batumi, after the forced occupationannexation of the Democratic Republic of Georgia by Soviet Russia, was returned to the Georgian people as part of Soviet Georgia. The city of Batumi was under the jurisdiction of the Democratic Republic of Georgia for less than nine months. The study is carried out on the basis of new archival documents and press materials.
