Abstract

The purpose of the Guide is to provide interested persons with information about the funds protected in the archives of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, which include 122,425 storage units. The archives contain documents of those scientific institutions that have functioned in Georgia under different statuses since 1917 and on the basis of which the Academy of Sciences of the Soviet Socialist Republic of Georgia was created in February 1941 (since 1991 it has been called the Academy of Sciences of Georgia, and from 2007 the National Academy of Sciences Georgia).
Over time, the Academy underwent structural changes, the network of scientific-research institutions included in it has been expanded, the number of scientific departments has been increased, and in 2007 a fundamental reform was carried out, which was duly reflected in the formation of the funds structure of the archives of Academy. This letter provides information on the activities of the governing body of the Academy - materials reflecting the activities of the Presidium, scientific departments, other structural units, as well as information about personal archives.
