In 23 February of 1918 Caucasian parliament “TRANSCAUCASIAN SEIM” begins to work, this parliament should have solved all the problems that were created after collapsing of the Russian Empire and of the front line with the Ottoman Empire, who now started to invade to Caucasia for conquering it, But the SEIM could not solve this problem. In such situation 26 may of 1918 in Caucasus is born new a country Georgian Democratic Republic that is led by Georgian Social-Democratic party.
By the ending of Great War in 1918, the world’s leading countries decided to create organization which would protect Europe and rest of the world from the same disaster that happed in First World War. With U.S. President Woodrow Wilson at the head of the supporting winner countries there was established new organization League of Nations, whose function was to protect and guarantee peace in the world.
New born Georgian Democratic Republic felt threatened from some of his neighbor countries and made his foreign politic goal to become a member of this organization, which would protect new born country from external threats, which mostly came
from Russian Soviet Republic.
Despite all benefits that league could bring to Georgia, there was debate in the parliament about a membership, whether Georgia should be a member of this new formed organization, which would mean protection for Georgia, or whether that it was just the new style of empire made by world imperialists.
