Abstract

“Every time has a headache, and the true master of history, like a judge, must first sit in the crust of the times and then judge the children of the times themselves” (Ilia Chavchavadze). I needed this preamble in order to remind the reader once again that the head and head of the nation’s misfortune is cursing the predecessors and exaggerating their merits, which is a very “familiar and familiar” trend in our political thinking. I was convinced that this is indeed the case while working in active journalism, while working on chronicles of recent history. All interviews, archival materials, and narratives of people participating in the processes are gathered at the link indicated at the beginning of the article. In the paper, we will present
the used fragments with time codes.
It is interesting how and why the terms: traitor, agent, enemy of the nation appeared in the Georgian political thinking of the 90s, and what results did the labels bring to the political forces fighting for the country’s independence. Answers to these questions should be sought not only in scientific publications, but also in video archives. Amazing facts are kept by our electronic history, which has provided us with unmistakable factual material of the processes going on at the turn of the ages. I, a journalist, while working on “Chronicles of Recent History” at the public broadcaster in 2010-12, had the opportunity to familiarize myself with the unique archival material, which provides comprehensive information about the social and political processes of the 80s and 90s of the 20th century. Working on the interviews of the people who participated in these battles and getting to know the works of such historians as: Mariam Lortkifanidze, Vakhtang Guruli, Dimitri Shvelidze, Guram Koranashvili, Igor Kveselava and others, made me decide to continue working as a historian and researcher and solve the political polarizations and the never-ending problems in our country. The secret of revolutionary euphoria. The purpose of the article is not to accuse anyone or make him a hero, the purpose of the work is to change the black-terri way of thinking in this country once and for all, the struggle between “heroes and traitors”.
In the conditions of walking in the same circle for 30 years, we should often look at our own actions from the side and at least analyze the mistakes from a distance. This is the essence of knowledge of history. Knowing the facts brings the ability to analyze, which eliminates the radicalism and emotional exaltation that are so entrenched in our reality.
